Getting in to great schools requires much attention to details. Every step of the pilgrimage requires careful
planning and execution. We see ourselves as a coach and the entire admission process as an education journey. We work
closely with both student and parents to cover every aspect of the process together, from identifying student's talents and needs,
selecting relevant schools, strategizing on personal and parental statements and essays, prepping for tests and interviews, through
evaluating offers and handling wait-lists. Our role is to help the student not just get in to a great school, but also receive
an education that best fits the student and best prepares the student for qualities that top universities will value. In the
course of the journey, we hope to help broaden the student's perspectives, stimulate a passion for learning, and inspire
greater aspirations. We hope the student will, through this process, discover more about himself, his potentials, and the
contributions that he can make to the world around him. (See Our Guiding Principles.)
1. Profile Analysis.
The primary objective here is to establish a solid understanding of the case at hand. This first stage begins with student and parent interviews and a review of the student's achievements. The interviews would usually take place over one or more sessions in person but can also occur over phone or email. After both subjective and objective assessments, the student's profile will be compiled, based on which we will discuss the options available for the student and our preliminary recommendations with respect to the family's educational objectives.
2. School Selection.
When an agreement is reached regarding the student's path, we proceed to tailor a shortlist of schools that best fit the student's particular talents and needs. As we do not "partner" with any schools, our search is by default worldwide, cutting across education systems and curricula, with the aim to take most advantage of each system's unique characteristics to generate maximum benefit for the student. Our solutions thus usually transcend national borders and encompass a blend of top schools from popular destinations such as the US, UK, and Canada. While our preference goes to the select schools that we have personally visited over the years and know well, our school search for the student is not confined to them. We do not generally recommend matching students to schools where we do not already see a fighting chance of the student eventually ranking within the top 25% of the school.
